Embedded Project on Metal Detector Robotic Vehicle

The project is designed to develop a robotic vehicle that can sense metals in front of it on its way like sensing landmines. The robot is controlled by a remote android application. Remote activity is accomplished by any smartphone/Tablet and so on., with Android OS, upon a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based touchscreen task.

It comprises a metal detector circuit interfaced to the control unit that alarms the client behind it about a suspected landmine ahead. An 8051 series of a microcontroller is utilized for the desired operation.

At the transmitting end utilizing the android application, commands are sent to the receiver to control the movement of the robot either to move forward, backward and left or right and so forth. At the receiving end, two motors are interfaced to the microcontroller where they are utilized for the movement of the vehicle.

The android application device transmitter act as a remote control. While the receiver end Bluetooth device is encouraged to the microcontroller to drive DC motors via motor driver IC for vital work. A metal detector circuit is mounted on the robot body and its activity is done consequently sensing any metal underneath. When the robot senses this metal it produces an alarm sound. This is to alert the operator of a possible metal (eg: landmine) ahead on its way.

This project can be upgraded by mounting a wireless camera on the robot with the goal that the operator can control the movement of the robot remotely by watching it on a screen.

1) This line following robot can likewise be modified to a walking robot in any surface by utilizing only one motor with hand-made fixtures according to the detail directions give.

2) Similarly, the same walking robot can be connected the with the special magnetic material according to directions to climb a wall of any vertical metallic surface says a refrigerator body.
